I had a reason to write

Wow,

My first post was in 2010. I'm listening to Pandora as I write this how the world has changed. I just recently watched to conventions and watched nearly 60 year old light up facebook about Fayette.

Would you think that would be the reality probably not. My 84 group has not fully jumped in yet but they want to, they are just waiting to see where they can. Because in Fayette we wait out the older generation as they are part of the decision tree and opinion tree. It's all good. We in Fayette say what we mean and we act on it. Where the convention talk about different things our people look for real answers to real life items. Was Fayette a fairy land maybe it was Utopia. We all  have been lucky to have grown up there. We developed unique insights into life. We can see a person from 20 years ago and immediately it was like yesterday.

You marry, die, divorce or have some hiccups in life guess what we are all there for you and will never judge you. Instead we will say have a seat. Let's talk. We don't solve all of the problems in the world but we are part of the process.

My class of 84 the amount that went to the military and college was amazing. Yes the numbers were small but if you are a guy like me that studies data for a living the numbers were crazy high compared to a city like Dubuque, Iowa City or Cedar Rapids. They all had a false security we knew we had to make it.

I still communicate with Fayette people even though I don't have a clue what is going on there now.
Part of me doesn't care about the changes. I want to remember the day lounge, marita's, flip flop, klocks barrel, volga river and much more.

As we all get older  some like changes some like the same. Unfortunately evolution happens so change happens. I tell my two kids everything in life comes down to numbers everything is math based including science.

So what is the science of Fayette and what is the dna of Fayette? It's like what asking someone to decribe your inner core/soul. It's not like buying a droid or iphone. My kids will never know it.

They will never know anyone in life that they can say they knew for 50 years and more. They will also never know what it's like to grow up in Mayberry but live in a city like Atlanta. Big cannot go small but small can go big.

You are saying where is he going with this blog and I can only say you know what it's like being in Fayette we never know where the discussion begins and what it ends up with.

I'm glad you are all getting involved in the discussion it's fun.

I have several items I remembers. I will mention a couple that I remember that are parent related and parent friend related.

Grilling steaks with mushrooms freshly picked from the woods.
Rummy. I used to know how to play now no way do I have a clue.
Booster clubs and pot-lucks
10 cent mountain dews (Atlanta I would say cokes)
Watching them living a simple happy life.

Friends
outside everyday playing games day and evening
sharing my formidable years with each of them
community, friends, parents, teachers, clergy all was good.

Thank you for sharing everyone has a story but the Fayette's of the world that help make up this world usually get passed over in big world. The good thing is we ignore them.
